Jurnal Tinta Nusantara is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. If errors, ethical concerns, or other issues are identified in a published article, the journal will examine the available evidence and take appropriate editorial action. Corrections and retractions are intended to preserve the integrity of the scientific record and provide readers with clear information regarding the reliability of published research.
A correction may be issued when an error or omission in a published article requires amendment, but the main findings and conclusions remain reliable. Corrections may involve author information, funding statements, conflicts of interest, references, tables, figures, or other parts of the text.
Requests to change authorship must comply with the journal's authorship policies and be supported by appropriate justification and agreement from the relevant parties, where applicable. Minor typographical errors that do not affect the meaning or interpretation of an article may not require a formal correction notice.
A retraction may be considered when there is strong evidence that a published article is unreliable or involves serious ethical violations that cannot be adequately addressed through a correction. Grounds for retraction may include:
Retractions may result from honest mistakes as well as research misconduct. Authorship disputes alone do not generally justify retraction if the findings remain reliable and the integrity of the article is not otherwise compromised.
The editor may issue an expression of concern when serious questions arise regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article, but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final decision or an investigation is still ongoing.
An expression of concern does not constitute a definitive finding of misconduct. Once the investigation has been completed, the journal will determine whether further action is necessary and, where appropriate, publish an update explaining the outcome.
Authors, readers, reviewers, institutions, or other interested parties may report suspected errors, publication misconduct, or ethical concerns through the official contact channels of Jurnal Tinta Nusantara. Reports should include, where available:
The editor will assess the report, request explanations from the relevant authors when necessary, and consult independent experts or the authors' institutions if required. Editors with actual or potential conflicts of interest will not participate in the handling or decision-making process for the case concerned.
Editorial decisions will be based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the issue, and its impact on the reliability and integrity of the published article. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised. However, the authors' consent is not a prerequisite for issuing a correction, expression of concern, or retraction when such action is justified.
A lack of response from the authors will not automatically terminate an investigation. The journal will communicate the decision and its reasons to the relevant parties, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal requirements.
Any formal notice of correction, expression of concern, or retraction issued by Jurnal Tinta Nusantara should:
Substantive changes to published articles will not be made silently. If an article file is updated, the date and nature of the change should be documented to maintain a transparent publication history.
A retracted article will generally remain accessible as part of the scholarly record, with a clear “Retracted” designation on the article landing page and, where technically possible, on the article file itself. The DOI and relevant metadata should be retained to preserve traceability and the publication history.
Removal of the article's content will be considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as legal requirements or serious risks to personal privacy or safety. Where removal is necessary, the journal will preserve the article's metadata and provide an explanatory notice to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Authors may appeal an editorial decision by submitting a reasoned explanation and relevant supporting evidence through the official contact channels of Jurnal Tinta Nusantara. Appeals will be assessed impartially, with appropriate measures taken to avoid conflicts of interest.
The journal may revise or update a published notice if new evidence materially changes the outcome of the investigation. Where applicable and feasible, the journal will also communicate relevant updates to indexing services and other publication-related platforms to maintain consistency and transparency across the scholarly record.
